Seeking Nominees for Introduced Fish Section Officers

Introduced Fish Section Members,

The Introduce Fish Section executive committee is now seeking candidates to serve as president-elect and treasurer.  The term for each position is two years.  After two years, the president-elect will serve the role of president for two years, followed by past-president for two years.  This is a great opportunity to meet other professionals from around the world and strengthen your professional network.   A description of the duties are below:

President-elect

(a) Perform the duties of the President in the absence of the President;

(b) Serve as SECTION Membership Committee chairperson; and

(c) Serve as editor of the newsletter to the members in the absence of an appointed Newsletter Editor.

 

President

(a) Serve as Chair of the Executive Committee of the SECTION;

(b) Preside at the business meeting of the SECTION;

(c) Appoint all committees except Membership and Nominating;

(d) Serve as an Ex Officio member thereof; and

(e) Shall represent the SECTION and perform other duties and functions as authorized and necessary.

 

Past-President

(a) Serve as the chairperson of the Nominating Committee; and (b) Assist the other officers as needed

Treasurer

(a) Maintain a current list of the membership;

(b) Receive all funds;

(c) Pay all bills;

(d) Keep an itemized account of all receipts and disbursements;

(e) Present a semi-annual report to the SECTION Executive Committee;

(f) Present an annual report to the membership; and

(g) Submit a report (minutes of the annual business meeting, treasurer’s report and membership status) to the Executive Director of the Society within 30 days after the annual meeting of the SECTION is held and at other times as requested by the Executive Committee of the Society.
